Could you be part of the Holty Paws family?

We are looking for a very special type of person to join us at Holty Paws.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be involved in all aspects of delivering our dog walking and bespoke pet care services.

This will include puppy visits for play, training, feeding and cleaning but most often you will be leading groups of up to 4 dogs (maximum) on walks of 1 hour – often over difficult terrain, come rain or shine. You will need to pick up and drop off all the dogs at their homes, clean and dry them after their walk, so you’ll need to manage your time efficiently to ensure you keep to the agreed timetable and you must expect your car to get dirty (all Holty Paws dogs travel in harnesses and restraints for their safety and to comply with the law).

Whilst walking, you’ll be exercising the dogs; maintaining an upbeat walking pace, instigating and joining them in play, being very interactive and stimulating the dogs to have the best time ever - this isn’t a chance to bring friends along for a catch-up stroll and chat. Most of all you will need to be constantly alert and vigilant for hazards and potential dangers (such as snakes, roads, livestock and other dogs  that might not be so friendly) to ensure they are all happy and safe and being respectful of others you may meet.

You may also conduct home visits for 'feed and fuss' for the pets in their own homes. This also involves checking what else they may need, such as emptying litter trays, cleaning up puppy pads, cleaning hutches and other similar tasks.

About You

Obviously, you must love animals of all shapes and sizes but working with Holty Paws is about more than just loving companion pets; it is about looking after them and enriching their lives, delivering all this with a smile and positive outlook.

Owners must feel completely confident entrusting their pets to us, knowing they will be well cared for. Whilst you are working, your focus will entirely be on the animals in your care.

  • Naturally, you must be physically fit and happy to work outdoors in absolutely all weather conditions.

  • You will need excellent time-keeping skills and have a positive, happy disposition.

  • We need you to be good at communicating with us via mobile phone and specific apps, as well as confident communicating with animals and understanding their behaviour.

  • You must have a full driving licence and fully-insured car with up to date tax & MOT.

  • You must be honest, reliable and trustworthy and we will conduct DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks.

Ideally, we are looking for people based in one of these areas to support our growing client base:

  • Chandlers Ford / Eastleigh

  • Sholing/Hamble

  • Locks Heath

Unfortunately, we can only consider applicants over the age of 18.

What we offer

You will join a friendly, supportive and flexible team.

We’ll provide training including pet first aid and you will shadow an established team member until you are confident to take full responsibility for a group of your own.

This is a dream job for happy, personable, animal-lover looking for flexible working on a sub-contractor basis.

If this sounds like you, please send an email introducing yourself and why you’d like to work with us to
